Choose Happy With Jill Liberman
I am sitting right next to the lovely, the one and only, Jill Liberman. Welcome, Jill.
I just love you. Jill is always smiling. Go on TheRightMethod.com and you’ll see it. She’s always smiling a megawatt smile. Google her and every picture you’ll find of Jill has a giant smile. You choose happy every day. What is choosing happy?
Choosing happy is exactly what it sounds like. It’s making the choice or the decision to choose happiness and to live a positive lifestyle every day. It is a choice. It’s a mindset. It’s something everybody wants. It’s also something that everybody can have.
Jill is a mega-successful television personality, former radio show host, author of four bestselling books, a motivator, and a mom. You’ve done it all, Jill. I’m learning more about you every single day. I’m so blown away. Do you ever get tired?
That is so sweet. I don’t get tired. It’s staying busy that keeps me invigorated and gives me energy. I love waking up thinking, “What can I do today? What can I accomplish? Who am I going to meet?” It’s exciting.
We talked about Choose Happy. I’m sitting here next to Jill and you have many cute items here. I’m looking at hats, shirts and these face masks. That’s a great idea. Tell us more about these.
Choose Happy started as the book, Choose Happy. It evolved because people said, “I love your book. I want more.” I said, “What more do you want?” They said, “I want you to be my life coach.” I started doing some life coaching and then, “I want an inspiration every day.” It led to my being a motivational speaker, and now it led to a clothing line, which we’re excited about. I’m glad that you like what you see. Also, when the whole pandemic came out and people needed to start wearing masks, we thought, “Wouldn’t it be great to brand mask with Choose Happy to spread a positive message in a time that’s not so positive?” If you have to wear a mask or you choose to wear a mask, why don’t you wear something that inspires people and makes people smile? We have Choose Happy Mask. Also, on MyLogoMask.com, we started doing mask for companies because they wanted their logo on it. It’s evolved into a lot of different branches of Choose Happy and we’re excited about it.
I love it because even when you look at it, you smile. When you see Choose Happy written across someone’s mouth, it’s hard not to put up that smile.
It’s a good reminder. Sometimes we tend to have our thoughts go in a negative way. When you see something and it says, “Choose Happy,” it’s a good reminder that I’ve got to start thinking more positively.Achieving your dreams starts with knowing what you want and then believing you can have it. Let’s talk about your books. You are killing it. Tell us about the book, Choose Happy. Let’s start with that one.
Choose Happy is a whimsical, fun, easy read. It’s a quick guide. It’s something that you can pick up and put down at any time. You don’t have to read it from start to finish. It has inspirational quotes and fun stories. It’s a reminder that even though things aren’t perfect, you can still choose happy. Find opportunities in things that you think are challenging. It may turn out to be the best day of your life. I have great stories in there. I love that because it’s fun. It’s for all ages. As we were saying, everybody wants to be happy. Wherever you are in life, whatever your age, whatever your situation, whatever you do for a living, no one says, “I’m happy enough. I don’t need to be happy.” We all want to be happy. This book is a great reminder of how you can be happy every day.
There’s a good lesson here for our audience. We have talked quite a bit about your story, but let’s fill everyone in. You have overcome obstacles to get where you are in the business world. It didn’t come easy for you. You had to have perseverance. You had to have a drive. You had to keep pushing when people were telling you, “It won’t happen. You can’t do it. You’re not good enough. You’re not worthy of it.” How did you keep yourself focused? How did you achieve all of these giant dreams and milestones?
It starts with my wanting it. For the people who are reading, it starts with you wanting it and knowing what you want and then believing you can have it. It’s wanting it so much that you’re not going to let go. There are always going to be obstacles and challenges. There are always going to be people who say, “Why you? Why do you think that you’re going to be the one who can do this and other people couldn’t do it? What makes you special?” There will always be people like that, but you need to know why. You need to know that you’re going to be the one that can break those barriers.
Some of my books and some of the things that I’ve worked on, I partnered with very high-profile people who I didn’t know at the time. People in my life would say, “Why do you have to start at the top? Why do you have to work with someone who is the president of the United States? Why do you have to work with such a high profile? Start with people who might be more likely to come on board in the project.” I said, “No, that’s not the way that I want to do it. I know who I want to partner with and that’s who I’m going to contact.” If you know that and you believe in that, then that’s what’s going to happen. Why settle when you don’t have to?
You’re speaking my language. That’s incredible. For our audience, there are a lot of people out there who are struggling. They want to achieve more. Maybe they’re feeling trapped or stuck in that mundane, “I wake up, I go to work and I come home. I’ll wake up the next day.” What advice would you have for someone like that who needs a little jolt?
This show is a great place to start because you have spoken to and gathered such inspirational and motivational people. Sometimes when you hear other people’s stories, what they went through, and what they’ve been able to achieve, you’ll hear something that they’re saying and it will resonate with you. Tuning in to a show like this and reading books, that’s a great place to start hearing someone else’s story that might inspire you. Also, it’s important not to feel overwhelmed because if you go into something feeling that it’s daunting, most likely you’re starting backwards. You’re not going to get ahead because you’re already preventing yourself through the way that you’re thinking.
Instead of saying, “How can I write this book? How can I start a podcast? How can I start this business? How can I find another job?” whatever it might be, just be excited about it and say, “I can’t wait to create the next great novel, to have my own podcast, or to be my own boss.” Look at it in an enthusiastic way. That way, as you run into roadblocks, they’re not going to stop you from accomplishing your goal or your dream. You’ll figure out another way to get through and make it happen. My suggestion for all of you who want to make changes in your life, don’t look at it as something daunting. Go into it with enthusiasm because it’s your life. You want to enjoy what you do.
I cannot wait for everyone to see more of you and what you are doing on The Right Method. Jill has so much information, a wealth of knowledge and many stories, heart stories, real stories, and authentic stories. You said that word and it hit home for me because sitting here and being with you all day, you are authentic. What you see online about you is 100% true. You’re happy and your light shines so bright you can feel it in the driveway. I admire the woman you are and what you’re doing in our world to make many lives better. We need more of that. Thank you for what you do.
I appreciate that. Thank you so much.
